"Does not fully support M4V tags"
Version: Tag&Rename 3.5.7
Pros
Seems like an ok tag editor for audio files
Cons
Does not support all of the iTunes video tag fields.
Interface looks like Windows 3.1 for workgroups.
Hard to navigate.
Whines when you uninstall it.Summary
I downloaded Tag&Rename to edit tags of M4V files in a faster way that with iTunes. I could not find any of the fields that I needed to edit such as Season Number, Episode Number, Show or Episode ID, basically the entire Video tab in iTunes. The interface looks pre-Windows 95 and is frankly ugly and a pain to navigate. I would look at Mp3tag as a preferable alternative for audio file tag editing.

"Great little tool for renaming music files"
Version: Tag&Rename 3.5.6
Pros
Tags work great in WinAmp
Cons
Tags are stripped when files are brought into Itunes.
Summary
I like the product, its easy to use flexible with the tag names, and relatively quick to rename a large number of files.

"Great tagging program - easy to use"
Version: Tag&Rename 3.5.6
Pros
The very customizable interface is great and I like that it fetches album info/cover art from Amazon and can rename files using any combination of tags. I was able to go through and retag about 50 mp3's in 10 minutes, really helpful.
Cons
Could find nothing wrong with it.
Summary
Great free mp3 tagging program.

"Best tag editor I've ever used"
Version: Tag&Rename 3.5.6
Pros
* Highly customizable interface
* Fetches album info/cover art from Amazon.com
* Can rename files using any combination of tags
* Easy to copy selected tag info from one file to others
* Free updatesCons
* Includes playlist functionality, but it's too primitive to be useful (e.g. can't add a track to an existing playlist, which makes it useless for me)
* Not really a con, but I'd love it if they added the ability to resize album artSummary
One of my most used apps over the last two years. Has probably been used on 100,000 files, all named the way I want, with full and correct tag info. I use it as my main interface to my music files (it's easy to play selected tracks or albums from Tag & Rename through your default player).

"Works just fine."
Version: Tag&Rename 3.5.6
Pros
Gives you the ability to access every bit of information that can be stored in the MP3 shell.
Cons
Interface a little clunky -- found myself clicking around a lot more than I should've had to just to do what I needed to do.
Summary
Powerful and useful tool, but it could use a little revamp of buttons, menus, etc.

"Excellent Program. Great interface and performance!"
Version: Tag&Rename 3.5.6
Pros
- Intuitive, flexible interface
- Supports folders on network shares
- FastCons
None that I've discovered so far
Summary
This really is a great product. It is designed for one purpose and does it well. The interface is incredibly intuitive and easy to use. The Windows Explorer-like interface allows for easy sorting, as well as selecting part of a list with shift-click and random file selection with control-click.
Tag&Rename is fast and accurate. It handles thousands of files in a snap. The online lookup of info and album art is a nice touch. I really love the fact that it handles network shares as easy as local directories.
I had thousands of mp3s without tags or with partial tags. The amount of time Tag&Rename saved me makes the $30 cost very reasonable.
Something to note: The 30 day trial is fully functional and unrestricted... I wish all trial software took this approach. -
"Great software for small qty files"
Version: Tag&Rename 3.5.5
Pros
Great Software
Easy to use
Lot of usefull option
full MP3 supportCons
Don't try this software for 30,000+ MP3... it hang and freeze. PITA.
Summary
for a low amount of files, go ahead... for a huge qty, look somewhere else.

"Good program - Terrible Support"
Version: Tag&Rename 3.5.5
Pros
Easy to use with many features
Cons
Absolutely no support at all. All of my emails have gone unanswered. There is an issue with 64-Bit MP4 tagging (it cant read the files at all). Additionally some of the tag fields do not work for iTunes.
Summary
It's a decent program but the lack of support is a turnoff. There are some free alternatives like MP3Tag that are getting just as good and their support is so much better. I would have hoped for a paid application like this, they would actually respond to emails. Shame

"Very Powerful. Perhaps Too Powerful for Some."
Version: Tag&Rename 3.5.4
Pros
An outstanding and very powerful software, and perhaps too powerful if you don't know what you are doing, so, please read the manual. Highly customizable, and perfect for classical music where you want a lot of accurate detail. Best in the market.
Cons
None. Strongly recommend that you consult the manual before making big changes, especially in "auto mode."
Summary
The best of its kind in the market. Especially now that the Microsoft "wise men" have removed the Advanced Tag Editor from their Windows Media Player in the rediculous Windows 7. Highly recommended for classical music, where you need to input a lot of detail, and classify your music files accordingly. Definitely worth the money.
