"Best tag tool i have seen, but pricey"

    by lou.dobbins2005 on April 2, 2007

Pros: Once you get past the "complete" user interface, this application will give you everything you want in terms of tagging your music files. sometimes i think i am i anal in wanting to spend my time on such "tagging" but i like it and this application helps me getting everything done and organized.

try out the trial version first... i did and decided to make the big step and purchase.

Cons: Pricing would be my only "con" for this app. at nearly $30 it is a bit steep. But I did buy it and remain to like it anyway.

"Very good works extremely well for me"

    by Tracy27 on November 30, 2007

Pros: I have tried to use numerous tagging programs. None of come close to this program. I tried Fixtunes and ended up losing a bunch of MP3s because of it. But this program I was able to go through my extensive MP3 library of over 800 albums and did not lose any. Also this works on Vista with no problems whatsoever. What is there not to like about this program.

It does everything you need as far as tags go.

It will rename the file or folder for you. There are like six different ways to download information one is the online database and there is like 4 or 5 different Amazon sites that you can look for albums. Can edit many different versions of tags. Can change file extension. As an MP3 synchronization wizard where you can go from ID3 v1 to ID3 v2 or version 2 to version 1.

Here is a list of the supported formats from the website

    mp3 - ID3v1.1, ID3v2.3, ID3v2.2 and ID3v2.4 ANSI, Unicode and UT8 encoded tags

mpc, mp+, monkey?s audio, wav pack, optim frog, true audio - APE tags, APEv2 tags

Windows Media (wma, asf and wmv files)

ogg, flac, speex - vorbis comment tags

Apple iTunes aac (m4a, m4p and m4b) and mp4 files

    wav - ID3v2.3 tag in 'id3 ' RIFF chank

Cons: Just a fact that if you download album info from Amazon. It puts the website URL in the tag other than that couldn't be happier.

"No, I don't work for Softpointer, but this is best tool out there"

    by hinder90 on December 6, 2007

Pros: What makes it great is that it has a variety of approaches to fixing songs in your library of it's missing, incorrect or ill-formatted tags. You can use pattern matching to scrape track titles, artists, etc from filenames, folders or even parts of existing tags. However, it also can do matches on the fabricated CD track lists of songs against CDDB. By fabricated CD track lists I mean if you have a burned CD that say someone added an extra track to that throws off a CD match. You can omit that song in the search list and see if CDDB cam match the track list's "footprint". Finally, if all else fails, you can do an album search against Amazon and fill in the fields that way. You can fill in one, some or all the fields by selecting check boxes. That is also the means to get album artwork added to your tags easily. The features are really well executed and very powerful but don't have that "half baked" feel a lot of those "cheap as free" tools out there. While the feature set may seem overwhelming at first with it's bounty of toolbars, the features are easy to use once you take a moment of figure them out. Access to more esoteric features like pattern matching and bulk processing is visualized very will in the UI and is flexible enough that you don't get into situations where the tool can't do something because of a silly limitation in the features execution.

Cons: There is a slightly steep learning curve only because there are so many things this tool can do. It is useful for fixing tags and filename and has lots of bulk features to run tasks against sets of files, however it is kind of lacking on means of actually moving the files and folders around. They exist, but they sometimes don't do exactly what you might expect at first. It also has some techniques that may not see obvious to the novice that could be better cued in the UI. It will probably do exactly what you want it to do but it might take you a few tries to figure how to best do it. I found that there were two learning curves. One, to learn how to use all the various features and figure out how to best use them, and two, how to devise a process or workflow for fixing music that needed to be "cleaned" before I dropped it into my music collection.

"Many Features But A Much Cluttered Screen"

    by 1mooner on August 19, 2007

Pros: It Has Quite A Few Features That I Like And Have Used With Other Programs Of This Type.

Cons: Main Screen Is Too Cluttered With Numerous Buttons And Selections. It Was Hard For Me Too Figure Out The Features After Using Another Program Which Was Much Easier To Use And Which Was Free. I Don't Think I Would Pay $30.00 For This When There A Lot Of Others Around That Are Free & Easier To Use.
