Thank you! Not everyone is a Web Designer but in today's world, we still have to use HTML now and then. Developers and Web Designers who write HTML all day forget about the rest of us who just need a little simple help now and then. I'm a songwriter but I understand why people want simple programs to play with music even if they can't play concert piano! - same thing!
Taco HTML Edit, fits the bill perfectly! Easy to use, elegantly designed - you'll be up and running within 2 minutes.
THANK YOU!! -

I can only say this as a total dumbhead when it comes to coding...but this app has made all my efforts much easier...!! I have edited lots of HTML and PHP using this and it is simplea and easy and offers lots of nice features like the Quick Insert menu and a bunch of other cool stuff -- for beginners like me as well as for experienced users...!!It may not be such a killer application as BBedit, but it has everything most people may need...and it's free...!!
(A localized German version would be nice though... ;)

I help alot of clients get a basic web site up and going as an Apple Computer Consultant. This program is simple enough for novice website / Macintosh users to grasp within 15 minutes and start editing thier own basic HTML with - whether for a personal home page or small business site. All other programs are waaaay to complex, or present too many choices. Newbies can get started as if just using a Word Processing program!
The Syntax checker and Organize Tags features alone are a godsend to write readable, clean code. I use it to manage all my Apple support sites on a daily basis. I may use templates or Rapid Weaver to get a site structure built, then exclusively use TACO to do all the rest. The ONLY HTML editor I need, gosh if it had a simple FTP option built in, I'd be in heaven. GREAT software regardless. Shawn 'Rusty' Smith : DoctorMac Palm Springs -

Version: Taco HTML Edit 1.6

-Has the word "taco" in the title
Cons
-Doesn't display the line number; the only way to navigate to a specific line is to hit ctrl+L.
-Doesn't remember how you had the window sized the last time you opened the program.
-Uses word wrapping instead of horizontal scrolling.
-Cannot actually be eaten

I like this program I actually paid for it. I love the interface for this program. It's an invaluable tool for web design. The list of files on the left combined with php syntax checking makes this the best code editor out there. Unlike DreamWeaver you can make the text white on black very easily.
There are only a few features I'd like to see.
- A back button
- CSS Syntax coloring
- FTP access
