"Extremely slow converter."
Version: TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 4.7.3.292
Pros
It can set up and convert more than 1 movie and record on 1 single disc.
Cons
One of the slowest converters.
Summary
I spent about 36 hours to convert 2 movies each about 1 and 1/2 hrs into one file so that I can burn it into one single disc.
It's name is Xpress TMPGEne but it contradicts with it's performance. -
"One Of The Best"
Version: TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 4.7.1.284
Pros
great quality video encoding.
add effects to your video, cut video
just about a whole package to encode your videos with advanced settingsCons
kind of slow for me but the quality is worth the wait
Summary
I use this program to redo mp .MPG files recorded from SageTV and convert them to MPEG-4 and works very good. You can add effects to your video and use filters such as deinterlace, video crop noise reduction, color correction audo noise reduction, video/audio fade in plus even more.
cut your videos frame by frame choosing your "start point" and "end point" of video
output video to MPG AVI MPEG-4 VOB quictime MOV DivX Buray MPEG stadarrd format Super Video MPG Standard, standard MPEG and more. audio only output too like Wave, MPEG audio, Dolby Digital audio.
before encoding you can choose video and audio bitrate of choice (as always should) FPS Aspect Ratio select video passing option (1 pass or 2 pass VBR or CBR and all that.
I had Very nice looking encoding results (depending on source video for you) in sync video.
I recommend this one. Thanks for reading. -
"Good Reproduction"
Version: TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 4.6.2.266
Pros
the program produces a nice image in a multiable of formats which is handy for making video dvd or just editing your footage a feature a lot of others don't do very well like nero and window movie maker
Cons
the processing time I have found to be on the slow side when compared with programs like format factory and nero recode for this reason I would say the price is a little high
Summary
using the trail verison I have found this program gives a good reproduction and in some cases improved the image quality as with the audio I found no real change from the orginal track. from an editing and design point i find this program to offer a little more flexablity compare to some like ulead and cyberlink software

"simple, fast, efficient, Swiss Army Knife of video conv."
Version: TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 4.4.2.238
Pros
so many well integrated codecs;
Complete availability of all parameters;
Template capability; Batch processing to sleep at night;
Handles AVCHD nicely. Excellent encoders
Cons
The cut/Edit editor is not the best i know, forget it.
If MPEG is the base format ( from SD to HDV ) , use Mpeg video Wizard.

"BEST Video Converter Ever !"

"Works great! An excellent encoder."
Version: TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 4.2.10.211
Pros
BTW, the trial download is working now.
This is a great product if you need to re-encode video files or prepare videos for DVD authoring, for showing on the web at sites like Youtube, etc. You can basically encode any video to any other video format (there are exceptions of course, but there's a wide range of formats in this thing!). I also like all the filters, which will help you de-interlace your video or fix colors. Good stuff!
Cons
Hmmm.. the price? It's a bit steep but you get a fairly robust encoder. Lots of settings that you can adjust.

"Unusable Download"
Version: TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 4.2.10.211
Cons
This is the retail version, not the trial version. Complete waste of time. Download was extremely slow at 12kb/s, only to find that it was the wrong file. I'll do my downloading somewhere else next time.
