The TCP/IP Scripting Addition allows a user with AppleScript or other Macintosh Open Scripting Architecture languages to quickly write client-server applications and scripts that use MacTCP and Open Transport. The product includes extensive documentation and sample scripts for Finger, FTP (send and receive), Telnet (including options negotiation), Gopher (client and server), E-mail, all written in AppleScript! The TCP/IP Scripting Addition first shipped in early 1994. Since then, the software won first place "Best Hack" in the 1994 Everyday AppleScript programming competition, and now Apple Computer, Inc. bundles the software with their Apple Internet Web Servers.
