"Not good with preinstalled windows platforms"
Version: System Mechanic Free 18.104.22.168
easy to install
Causes freezes, will not correct driver errors, causes programs to stop (you want running). Will not always run. (THE worst), after running and receiving "0" problems>>go to IOLO's site and running their: Free PC check>>NOTE: all the problems listed!! You can NOT completely deleted program from your system>>>BEWARE!!! Always being informed to buy more time!!
If I could completely remove "System Mechanic" I would!! I would recommend installing CCleaner!! Had prior on old computer (no problems) with my new computer I thought "System Mechanic " was the "Best of the Best" which it is NOT!!
"Can't give a lower rating"
Version: System Mechanic Free 22.214.171.124
When it is first installed it seems to work great
Updates are flaky.
Can remove drivers that are in use
If it crashes it causes Windows to become corrupted to the point it must be reinstalled and possibly a complete format (make sure you have all install disks and a good backup)
Quite possibly the worst utility I have ever had the misfortune of installing. I received a trial with some Micron memory I purchased and it went down hill from there. I actually was stupid enough to buy the subscription. The first update failed and I received NO HELP from IOLO. I actually had a fairly recent backup but in order to get this garbage off my system I had to swap out the hard drive and reinstall windows and restore from a backup. After reading the positive reviews I come to only one conclusion. Either the 5 star reviews are written by people with extremely great luck or they are phony. I had similar experience with the people that had their registry ruined and disk corrupted. I don't believe that my three machines could all have had the same issue at the same time if it weren't from the same cause. The Update to System Mechanic from IOLO. And I had the same lack of support as others.
I am unable to sufficiently describe the negative and ambivalent feelings I have toward IOLO and their garbage software.
If you are smart you won't use this crap.

I can't say it strongly enough, this is terrible software (I use the term software loosely as it is more firmware and can't be completely uninstalled even using the extensive uninstall methods from Iolo Support) and if you put it on your system be prepared to go it alone from that point on. Windows support won't help, Iolo support is comprised of morons reading from a card they don't understand, and the solutions all point to replacing your OS if not your disk.
