Not a con but I would recommend Expert mode to select/ensure deleted folders on C drive are automatically zapped from the backup device - you wouldn't want to restore these! This software is far superior to what I had been using - after the initial run for each (sub)folders of choice, future runs are incremental in nature and therefore very quick.You can get a display in your browser of what was run, you can do dummy runs - this backup program is the real McCoy IMHO.
update to my earlier review - because I can't contain my enthusiasm for this free backup program!

While this is a very customizable, fast, free piece of software, it hangs the computer (which must be rebooted) for all but simple jobs. On an average I'd say it copies about 5 GB before it hangs, but this varies. This behaviour is extremely annoying and unexpected of any software, but especially backup software.

Works great for 30 days, then it goes wild.
Disconnect for a week and it will lose profiles (think -- if you go on a business trip for a week -- which I do frequently.)Summary
If you have the time or want to reload or recreate profiles or reinstall the product every 30 days, then it is an excellent tool. If you travel a lot you can lose profiles or the product just seems to run wild.

After decades of looking for a good product for backups, this is it. I am an IT Pro. It would not be the easiest for my dad to use, but if you know what you are doing, give this a try. Can't beat the price.

Summary
With a little bit of patience, you create a profile and back up your data exactly the way you want it. I would've already gone mad with copying and pasting if it wasn't for SyncBack.
