Pros
I've used Sygate for many years and it's never failed me. Easy to use and doesn't get in my way with gobs of popups.
Cons
The only thing wrong with it is that Symantic bought them out a couple of years ago and will make it so bloated and slow that nobody but newbies will think it's great.

Chainmail2006, the Sygate Personal Firewall is FREE for home users, only businesses, etc, have to pay to use it.

Sygate forces pop-up windows that stops other programs, like Word, from responding. Clicking on the ?do not show this message again? button doesn?t stop the **things from re-appearing and you?ve lost time and data trying to get rid of it.

Pros
I really like this program and use it all the time. My two favorite programs on CNET for Security are Sygate Personal Firewall and GoTrusted Secure Tunnel. Those two programs are really great!

It seems to be doing a good job so far. Like other firewalls such as zonelarm it gives several pop-ups letting you know what it's doing or asking permission to open a program .
Cons
Nothing I can really think of other than it's not free .
