Swiftlight is a desktop software application for planning, project management and management communication that provides a practical planning structure, high quality presentation-ready outputs and an easy to use drag-and-drop interface. Created to meet the needs of general managers (e.g. marketing or brand managers, executives, operations or planning managers, management consultants etc), rather than just project management experts, Swiftlight is simpler, easier and clearer than traditional project management software and faster and more structured than simply using spreadsheets. Swiftlight is particularly well suited to management planning and to smaller, simpler projects, as opposed to large IT / engineering projects. However, Swiftlight can also be useful on larger, more complex projects as a high level planning / communication tool. In addition, through its links (BETA) to MS Project, Swiftlight can help act as a bridge between the world of a very detailed plan and senior management. Key features of Swiftlight include: 1) A focus on objectives, deliverables and measures of success as well as a timeline of activities and tasks, allowing users to plan, manage and communicate progress in a comprehensive and structured way. 2) "Big picture" perspectives on projects / initiatives which highlight objectives, deliverables, activities and key milestones on one page. 3) The ability to create presentation-ready timelines and plans very quickly, through the intuitive interface, WYSIWYG design and one click export to PowerPoint / PDF. 4) 8 different views on the plan, allowing users to separate the "big picture" from the detail, avoid information overload and develop outputs for different audiences. Views include: Project Objectives and Scope; Timeline; Activity Summary; Activity Detail (the to-do list: "who, what, when, status etc"), Action List over Time, Issue Log, Contact List. 5) Links to MS Project (BETA) allowing both import and export of plans. 6) Dynamic formatting which helps optimize the display of the timeline (and other views) across each page. 7) Review and reporting features which facilitate communication, organizational/team alignment and management oversight. 8) Customization features which allow outputs to be aligned with a company's branding requirements.
