Version: SurfSecret PestPatrol 4.2.38
"Great product."
Summary: PestPatrol comes with many detection engines for cookies, keyloggers, and real-time spyware active in the physical memory. While it does not differiate between malicious spyware from spyware that is benign, it detects almost everything that can be potentially be spyware. When you get the scan results, you must look over which programs you are willing to allow entry to you computer, but PestPatrol will find it including trojans. I think what makes PestPatrol better than free applications such as Ad-aware, and Spybot, is the real-time detection shield which essentially works like a anti-virus constantly monitoring the computer for malware. It PestPatrol detects spyware in a application you are opening, it will halt the execution, and warn you. Then you decide you want to delete, or stop the process. It's not as memory intensive as Webroot's Spy Sweeper program, which is good. Free version of PestPatrol doesn't delete anything, it only detects. Overall I found it to be a good program.
