"Jury is still out on this one, I have Pro version"
Version: SuperAntiSpyware Professional 5
Pros
Easy to install, free version works fine.
Cons
Uses a lot of resources, don't think so, check the starups.
Summary
Kind of asinine to update the free version, prior to the paid Pro version. Updated definitions fine, not program version, which leads me to conclude that once you pay, one is taken for granted.

"Great program and customer service!"
Version: SuperAntiSpyware Professional 5
Pros
Great free product
Great customer serviceCons
I can't think of any.
Summary
I have been using this program for years and I just recently spoke with their customer service. Not only did they answer my question but they helped with a few other things while they were at it ( I had a few not so helpful responses from other companies).

"Cleans Very Well on 64-bit Windows 7"
Version: SuperAntiSpyware Professional 5
Pros
I commonly utilize different Spyware tools in my arsenal from time to time. This tool seem to be the counter weapon of choice along with Norton 360 2012 for tools this year. Last year was Xoftspy SE but I do not get those signatures anymore so I did not renew that subscription. This software removes stubborn registry infections that prevent Windows from removing cookies properly. Now Windows and Norton can remove cookies.
Cons
I would have to say sometimes if other resources are maximizing like Norton scanning and Windows media player streams it tends to slow down the machine even tweaking the software to not hog the processor as much. Use the boosting feature to high to prevent throttling during a system scan. I suspect it's not the softwares fault just other hackers performing countermeasures to invade the system for other signatures that Norton and Super Anti-Spyware can not detect.
Summary
Overall, I have a pretty good selection this time. After all hackers try compromising computer systems once new software is installed. This goes for Anti-virus, spy-ware and malware programs too this is no exception.
To complement your security I recommend a proxy software to use for security. Depending on your Internet connection speed if it is slow I would not recommend it. I like jumping to additional servers to hide from hackers. However if your Big-Brother they will find you no matter what. They are the people who litter your machine with spyware and bypass your programs. I'm no one important I just value privacy if I can try.
Proxy software I would recommend is Go Trusted proxy software with a 7 day trial with a credit card on file or Proxy Goblin which is the most expensive $67.99 and Easy Hide IP with a 3 day trial, than $29.99 to buy. -
"Excellent Anti-Spyware Product"
Version: SuperAntiSpyware Professional 5
Pros
Easy to understand interface, plenty of tweaking options. Excellent detection rate. Updates often. Inexpensive.
Cons
not many, possibly the updates could be smaller - but MalwareBytes Anti-Malware has huge updates so SAS isn't that bad in comparison.
Summary
This product does as advertised with little user intervention. I've recommended it to friends and family. I'm a bit of a PC Security buff, having won a couple of Microsoft MVP awards in Windows Security, and I can say that SAS is one of the best - like MBAM, SAS is a good product to run alongside a good Anti-Virus product. I don't understand the comments about resources; SAS doesn't normally use up many resources; and you can run SAS just as a Windows Service for full protection; you don't need to run SAS in the System Tray. SAS runs well in both 32- and 64-bit environments.

"Great malware/spyware remover"
Version: SuperAntiSpyware Professional 5
Pros
It's a program you can trust & count on, haven't had a problem what so ever, hasn't freeze up yet on updates. It's worth ever dime I paid for it...
Cons
None what so ever
-
"A must have Anti spyware!"
Version: SuperAntiSpyware Professional 5
Pros
Sas is without a doubt one of the best anti spyware on the market.
Cons
Should add a feature that lets us choose what action we want to perform when detecting malware.
Real-time protection needs some improvements.
When updating it can freeze sometimes but it's not a big deal. -
"I use to love this program...but.."
Version: SuperAntiSpyware Professional 5
Pros
Sas is very effective in both protection and eliminating threats...maybe one of the best.
Cons
It is a resource hog...Not all the time..but when updating it can freeze whatever I'm doing...streaming a movie or working in Publisher..whatever. This is a drag that is making me reconsider using it...and finding something else.
Summary
A great program that does what it promises...but that also hogs resources. I don't want to have to reboot my computer or close out my protection so I can finish my current task... every time it updates. They need to find a solution to this.

"Stopped working on my XP system in 2 days"
Version: SuperAntiSpyware Professional 5
Pros
Nice interface and good feature set.
Cons
Not stable on my XP system.

"I love this program. It's automated & push button."
Version: SuperAntiSpyware Professional 5
Pros
It does an excellent job, without my having to 'watch dog' the procedures. It's scans are efficient & thorough If it tells you that you are spyware free, you probably are. It's very fast, too, which is a definite requirement for me. My time is far too valuable to waste on an incompetent program that pokes along. The reports are just like the program; efficient & effective.
Cons
It makes me feel extinct. It doesn't need me to 'watch dog' it or do anything else, but push a button or two.
Summary
SuperAntiSpyware is a program you can trust & count on. I enjoy using it, because it's just 'gimmicky' enough, without requiring much serious participation of the user. Have fun & get the job done.
