"Great program, nasty payload."

Pros
The program itself is great. It allows you to change the theme to one of a number of presets, or download one in just about any format available. You can change the boot screen, welcome screen, icons, and cursors with ease. Just pay close attemtion to the warning when using various "risky" features.
Cons
This program comes complete with the entire virus/trojan/spyware suite! I've never had so many problems installed on my computer from one program. Norton Firewall blocked several trojan horse attempts, Ad-Aware caught several browser hijackers, SpyBot caught a few more trojans, and Microsoft Antispyware caught 17 other "gifts." After all of that, I still found several programs installed in the \windows folder, most of which aren't even listed in the online virus/trojan/spyware databases! Unless your best friend is named Trojan.Startup.Xhrmy (had 23 installations after one installation of Style XP), DO NOT DOWNLOAD!

I had no problem with this program (although I did install the version from TGT, the newest one).
Ignore people who post about finding things such as 250 adware/spyware programs, thats a load of rubbish.
Their just trying to put people off downloading the program. (its probably just Bill Gates)

I dont know what you guys are talking about all that spyware and stuff... I downloaded it and installed it... then I ran MS AntiSpyware and it found nothing.
Therefore you had the spyware on your computer before you downloaded StyleXP. -

If you think you got spyware from this product, I've got news for you: YOU ALREADY HAD SPYWARE. I've been running this program for well over a year now and have had no problems, except for the SP2 compatibility issue which they resolved quickly by offering an update within days of SP2s release. My computer has never once been touched by spyware (knock on wood). I think the problems some people are reporting deals with their system configuration. Just like SP2 has worked fine on my PC for months now, other it practically crashes their systems. However, don't blame this software for your spyware problems as there are no spyware/adware bundled with this software.

Summary
I am using and have been using Style XP for a long time, and have to say that I love everything about it. I highly recommend that anyone using it get the latest version from TGTSoft's site. I think it is a shame that such a great product gets associated with a foul site like ThemeXP.org that is riddled with spyware.

Okay, What I concern this application might be good, unless it doesn't crash your computer.
And take caution people. When you click on Download here, you'll be linked to v1.01.
That's a very outdated version. The newest version is 2.16 and was released 1 month ago. No wonder you have issues in using it alongides Service Pack 2.
I have no problems with the newest version. And I have 30 themes installed and no spywares/adwares or any keyloggers were found during scan.
When you download skins, just use those who don't initiate an install.exe. Only download skins from the website which TGT Soft has linked to. When you download skins/backgrounds/logins you'll be able to scan the RAR.file.
And it doesn't slow your computer. You add your theme, and then it's enabled. It is the StyleXP console which consumes just a little memory. But you don't have to start it everytime you're starting up Windows. But I will give you an advice; do NOT change your bootmenu.
So once again. Do NOT click on the download page here. Go to TGT Soft and download 2.16!! -
"Too Good to be true"

makes everything look real nice, but has some kind of spyware, and here is proof (or at least, i think it should be proof): Downloaded it, installed it, logged off and my Antivirus software was acting all goofy and wouldn't load. DId a system restore, solved the problem.

When I downloaded and installed additional themes, my computer was loaded with over 250 items of adware, including one which was identified by my adware program as a Trojan. Changed my homepage.
