"INVALID SERIAL NUMBERS directly from Smith Micro"

    March 16, 2010  |   By meikel14

    Pros

    Ease of use, Dropplets

    Cons

Serialnumber supplied by Smith Micro rejected as invalid

    Summary

I purchased this as an upgrade from version 9.0, because i was quite happy with that version. Although there are no imporvements I can see at frist sight, what I like is the option to create SEAs (Self Extracting Archives). The Euphoria ended, when I discovered that my copy was still in Demo Mode. Upon entering the serial number supplied by Smith Micro, it was rejected as invalid. The Forum / Knowledge Base of Smith Micro states a solution, but that doesn't worl.

I experienced the same problem but fixed it myself by.
    1. uninstalling StuffIt 2009 first
    2. scanning my windows registry file with regedit.exe and deleting all Stuffit references.
    3. reinstalling Stuffit 2010.
The reinstallation takes you through the registration process and it then accepts the new key provided by Smith Micro.
