Version: Stellar Phoenix BKF Recovery 1.0
Pros: It recovers corrupt bkf files and lets you replace individual files or the entire backup information. Very easy user interface. The trial version will let you save your scan data for a fast recovery. The purchase version is for a lifetime license.
Cons: The free version says it just has a restriction on days, but this is not correct. You can only view recovered files, but not save them. The program was $99 for home users, $199 for corporate.
Summary: This program saved my job! I work as the head IT guy for a medium sized franchise firm and had assumed that my backups were doing what they should, but when our company accounting software crashed and we had to pull a backup, I was horrified to find... read more

Version: Stellar Phoenix BKF Recovery 1.0
Pros: Intuitive interface that allows you to easily find bkf files on your computer for repair. Windows should fix bkf files, but this did the trick. CAUTION: another bkf repairer on CNET set off my Norton so PLEASE scan all files before running.
Cons: $99...but I wanted access to my files so I took a walk off the peer. I responded incorrectly to the query on how to deal with duplicate files (I skipped initially and ended up without a lot of files being repaired).
Summary: I stumbled a bit with the process and it took three tries before files were restored. As noted above, one of the CNET downloads has a virus in it, but CNET's advice is to scan the installation files; this means that I would have to start the downlo... read more
