Steam used to be good back in the day, but after its new graphics update they care more about how the menu bars look rather then fixing the crashes and bugs the gaming client has. I have hand to reinstall games like modern warfare 3 five times or more because steam messes them up, I never touched the games internal files and it wasnt a virus. Steam may as well be a virus though, the program alone takes up to 40 GB, If I try to uninstall one game the correct way it uninstalled all my steam games and the client itself!
Overall it doesnt matter how cheap the games are if steam is going to make them unplayable. Avoid steam if you can -

The whole marketplace is great
It has quite a good download manager
Updates quite often
Great security for your account as well as for the games(I think)
Loads of great options for your buck
There are more,but I don't quite remember.Cons
Some services(like adding friends) require either money or for you to buy a game
It is a pain in the @ss installing this,along with the updates

Overall,a 7(Above average).I know that I'm not the best critic in the world,(and I haven't reviewed anything in quite a while) but this is what I think,And I'm trying to be as less biased as possible.Heck,I really hate this program,but I'm not giving it a low score. .This is undoubtly a clunky program,but it does what it promises.

Cheap games. The ability to re-download your games. No disks to worry about. Messaging and voice chat. The abiltiy to see your friends online. The list goes on.
Cons
Voice chat still buggy and resource intensive. Customer service is slow and poor.
Summary
Well it stopped me pirating games. Got sick of buying the same games again when disks scratched or were lost or you lost the key etc. They have some amazing sales (and some terrible ones lol).
It's quite a social platform. You can chat with your mates and see who is on and playing what etc. I have found it an excellent and useful program. -

A great platform to download, install and play games through. Offers and sales are always happening, and pre-purchasing of games works quite well. For any avid gamer out there, this is a great little program to manage and use to play and run games. Highly recommended for all gamers.
