"nightmare"
Version: Startup Optimizer 1.6
Cons
I've now down rated c|Net from "trusted source" to "suspect;" but it's too late.
I loaded and ran StartUp Optimizer 1.6.
My error.
Using my computer after running StartupOptimizer has been a nightmare.
How do I get back my settings?
What happened to my account settings for Thunderbird?
What happened to my dictionary and other parts for Wordperfect?
I am/was perfectly happy with a multitude of legacy programs. Besides Wordperfect, what else has been "fixed" ?
And there doesn't seem to be a way to contact Cyberlions. eMails bounce. They don't even have their own website.
How stupid was I?
Actual rating, negative 5 stars.

"Great !"
Version: Startup Optimizer 1.6
Pros
Great freeware, my system is quite out of date (2003) and is not the fastest pc out there but this cool tool helped me to get rid of some applications that necklebottled the pc while rebooting.
Cons
Nothing so far

"Inaccurate"
Version: Startup Optimizer 1.6
Pros
It detects startup programs and rates their safety
Cons
It detects seemingly nonexistent startup programs, inlcuding one that it says is both unknown and invalid. It is impossible to disable or to delete this program, and it does not show up on other startup managers, nor in the registry.

"Easy to use. Gives good control over your start up folders but has some issues."
Version: Startup Optimizer 1.6
Pros
Easier to use & understand than MSConfig but does have some issues. Start up processes can be easily researched on the Internet, but doesn't seem to search the internet everytime. It will also seach the properties or the folder in which the process is located. Memory usage may not be accurate as it shows most start up folders using the same amount of memory. Good tool to use to control your start up folders but the "Rating" tool should be used as a guideline.
Cons
Shows my mouse as Users Choice, my keyboard as Not Reqired & Zone Alarm as Unkown. Ctfmon.exe shows as Harmful but isn't necessarily harmful. Internet search doesn't work every time.

"Great startup utility."
Version: Startup Optimizer 1.6
Pros
Simple to use and a nice interface just uncheck startup programs and click the apply button. I stopped 10 startup programs from starting up, and it found two startup programs that had an invalid path. Now my computer starts up and shuts down a lot faster than it did before.

"Nice startup manager with one flaw."
Version: Startup Optimizer 1.6
Pros
Startup optimizer has a nice and easy to use interface. And speeds up your computer by disabling startup programs. It rates startup programs as not required, users choice, unknown, and harmful.
You can right click on a startup program and it has a lot of options for the program. But it's best to left click on the startup program because at the bottom of the interface, it gives details about the program and you can do a Google search on the program.
It's easy to disable any startup program just uncheck the box beside the program and click apply, no reboot required. And it's easy to enable any startup program check the box beside the program and click apply.
Cons
It said my ctfmon.exe was harmful but thats not true. The ctfmon.exe monitors the active windows and provides text input service for speech recognition, hand writing, keyboard, translation and other alternative user input technologies.
