    "Works almost perfect."

    April 23, 2013  |   By Oggiwara1

    Version: Start Menu 8 1.0

    Pros

This program works almost perfectly. Great app for the price of 0000,00 money.

    Cons

The only negative is that I can not start the Net Speed program from the start menu. Still have to open/start it directly from the program folder. But that's a minor drawback.

    Summary

A great app for the price with only(so far) 1 minor issue which is the reason why I rate it "only" 4 star.

    "Not quite perfect"

    April 21, 2013  |   By ptknapp2

    Version: Start Menu 8 1.0

    Pros

It does practically everything the old start button did, including Shutdown, which at least on competitor doesn't. And it's free with no bugs to upgrade.

    Cons

Missing is the right-click 'send to desktop' option. Also insists on opening in lower left corner where the old Start was located. I would prefer to open in the middle of the desktop.

    Summary

Good enough until a better free one comes along.

"Start Menu 8 Rocks! ... it's all good news!"

    April 9, 2013  |   By Zoltani

    Version: Start Menu 8 1.0

    Pros

Windows 8 with Start Menu 8 UI is like a bicycle with training wheels. After installing this novel "free" download, I find that I wouldn't consider going back to any previous version of Windows. Start Menu 8 is elegant in its simplicity. Computer now boots up to the familiar "Windows 7 like desktop UI" and has the "Start" tab.

After researching the available fixes for Windows 8, e.g., "Start 8" "Classic Shell," and "StartIsBack," I choose "Start Menu 8." It is easy to use and it was developed by iObit, so it'd done right!

    Cons

NONE - Download it now, so you can learn to like/love Windows 8

    http://www.iobit.com/iobitstartmenu8.php

    Summary

Brings back to good features of previous Windows OS -- "Start" button and familiar "Desktop" display for those who care about productivity.

"Scary product or was it just my computer"

    April 7, 2013  |   By tabpclover

    Version: Start Menu 8 1.0

    Pros

Emulates Start Button well- but right from the word go I felt cheated.

    Cons

    Soon after installing the product.
    - An automatic program called " "Advanced SystemCare Ultimate" piggybacked and installed on my computer

    - I immediately tried to uninstall the program " "Advanced SystemCare Ultimate"

    - Next first time in the history of my using computers "NORTON VANISHED" in thin air

    - When I tried to uninstall the "start Menu 8" I couldnt believe my eyes- only 2 programs showed in the program list and startmenu 8 was not one of them. Norton was ofcourse gone and also gone was FIrefox. Amazingly I still had firefox as I had the icon on desktop and could use it but it was not showing in the program list.

    - Next my startup slowed and my graphic driver started taking upto 2 minutes to load up (not sure whether this occurred or I started noticing this anomaly (it is an old system)

I am also amazed that none others except one reviewer noticed this aspect.

    - At this moment I am reinstalling my Windows 8 !!

    Summary

I am surprised that this has not been disclosed that there is a piggyback program. Reminds me of an old Greek story in Troy.

"Great app..but comes with something unexpected!!"

    March 23, 2013  |   By Scott-01929

    Version: Start Menu 8 1.0

    Pros

Looks and functions just like the Start Menu in Windows Vista (which I previously had a my OS (Operating System.) I like it!!

    Cons

Got an unexpected second app called "Advanced SystemCare Ultimate," which is some sort of security system for the PC. There was no way I could have stopped this second app. It rides "piggyback" to the Start Menu 8 app. But if you need to
the security app, (which I did,) it is fairly easily to do. I was just a bit surprised to see it. There should be a some sort of disclosure that notifies the consumer that the security app comes automatically with this download. Shame! Shame! IObit

    Summary

The app itself is GREAT!! but just be aware of the "extra" app that you get along with this one.

    Updated on Mar 23, 2013

PLEASE NOTE: Under the "cons" section of this review..it should read.."if you need to UNINSTALL the security app..."

"Highly recommend this for REAL PC users."

    March 19, 2013  |   By scifiwriter

    Version: Start Menu 8 1.0

    Pros

Extremely easy to set up and oh yes, it does look and feel just like the old Windows 7 Start menu. Microsoft! What were you guys thinking? This program runs great. Now my desktop goes right to the desktop after I log in like a DESKTOP should. App crap should be the option, not the default. IT ISN'T A #$&&$# CELL PHONE! These guys did a nice job.

    Cons

No cons that I have found so far.

    Summary

I highly recommend this for real PC users.

"Exactly what I was looking for."

    February 11, 2013  |   By ABanx

    Version: Start Menu 8 1.0

    Pros

I got my old-school Start Menu back, sample look and style that blends well w/ Win8. I like the Classic Start Menu because I like to group my programs and access them quickly and I don't like to clutter my desktop.

    Cons

There's some extra room. I turned off some things like "Printers" and "Run..." but the space where they would be is still there but blank.

    Summary

I'm on a computer not a tablet and my screen isn't a touch screen. The Start/Apps screen is completely useless to me. I use my computer for designing and writing, I need to get to my programs. I hate Windows 8, its designed for people that just wanna watch videos and play web games.

    "It works great."

    February 6, 2013  |   By tyrmyte

    Version: Start Menu 8 1.0

    Pros

Like I said it works great. Looks just like win 7. Also allows you to customize your start menu.

    Cons

I had to search for the setting option to put some win8 things back to normal. Once I found it I felt like a dope.

    Summary

Get it, it's worth every free penny.
