"Is it possible that something works in this world and asks nothing in return."
Pros: Recently I had a spyware load itself into the task tray. There was no way to remove it and it kept reminding me that I was infected and needed their product; SpywareWave.
I tried everything I had in my computer arsenal. AdAware Pro, SpyBot S&D, AVG antispyware, Symantic Corporate, Windows Defender. NOTHING! I checked the sites: Spyware Warrior/McAfee Site Advisor for information. I came here to Download.com and started trying everything that looked promising. I downloaded a total of 13 free spyware/adware/malware removers and ran them all.I tried trial versions of PestPatrol and SpywareDoctor, both of which told me I had something like 47-160+ problems (trojans etc.). Finally, I thought I would have to spend more money on another half decent program. I finally downloaded number 13; called Spyware Terminator.
HOLY VIRGIN MOTHERBOARD. EUREKA.
I believe in humanity again. To believe someone would actually produce a program this good shows that there is life after American Idol.
If this gem is not in your toolkit, then get it now. It is straight forward, medium fast, but best of all is the explainations. It actually gives a discription to the user of what was found, making the choice easier to remove a result for the novice and the more experianced. Next time you're unsure about that site tracker, it's good to know that Spyware Terminator tels you it's only from Microsoft.
Cons: They really should charge a fee for this. If other pieces of junk can charge $39.95 for a false sense of security, then they could get more and I would never have used it. I thank them for making it available to all for free

Pros: this program scanner may not be as good as ad-aware or spybot but its realtime features are topnotch and it does a good job scanning too.
Cons: the best third option to spybot and ad-aware

Pros: Like the others, it found something the others had missed(which I verified) but it actually removed the offender(which I verified) This is not bloatware (AdvancedSpywareRemover) or a resource hog (AdAware), it is freeware and comes with an un-installer that doesn't whine (SpybotS&D) and its Real-Time protection has a handy process-monitor that I set to block all threats and unknowns....where as it acts like a firewall with the access permit or deny... very intuitive as it didn't block any OS-apps....just the ones I initiated. Easy to config. VERY HANDY-TRY IT Only reason it got 4* & not 5* was because it was a little slow on deep scan-no biggee
Cons: OH NO IT INSTALLED A TOOLBAR... oh yeah, that was in the EULA... strange, it's installed but NOT activated... OH NO IT HIJACKED MY BROWSER... oh yeah, that is on-site help that I requested... If this is spyware/adware it is not very good(hahaha) not sure what the talk about SPYWAREWARRIOR was all about, oh yeah, SPEWING!!!!

Pros: Huge Bear Hug for this one. I love it when someone decides to help folks out with a good program for protection. Thanks to this program some of the hiders were found. Of course I removed those pests with the great help from the Spyware Terminator. This terminator "will be back." Thank you.
Cons: "zero defects"

Pros: It has a quick download and install. The quick scans are extremly quick as well as in depth. It managed to catch some adware that spybot and ad aware did not detect. It is light and has a friendly, intuetive, and appealing interface. This is at the ver least worth checking out.
