Version: Spyware Doctor 6.0.1.445
"Worst piece of garbage I CAN'T GET RID OF"
Pros: Not one DAMNED thing.
Cons: It is wreaking havoc with my computer. I will likely have to pay someone to fix the mess.
Summary: I got the dreaded GreenAV virus. I couldn't find it anywhere on my computer. I tried the recommended Malwarebytes, SUPERAntiSpyware Professional, CCleaner, all recommended by experts in order to identify it and delete it. I tried deleting it using Task Manager, but the known files didn't show up, nor did using Safe Mode do anything. In desperation, I downloaded Spyware Doctor, and that's when all hell broke loose.
Not only did it not find GreenAV, it caused my computer to slow down to a crawl, when it is functioning at all. Firefox keeps crashing, MSWord is acting bizarre. Nothing is working correctly. Worst of all, I CAN'T GET RID OF SPYWARE DOCTOR. No matter what I do, even downloading RevoUninstall and deleting Spyware Doctor, removes it. Oh, it removes it from the list of installed programs, but that's it. Then I try going to the SD file, run Uninstall (their OWN Uninstall), reboot, nothing.
This is not a program. It is a virus, one of the nastiest I've ever encountered. I cannot believe the CNet editors allow this to be downloaded. My computer needs help fast. And anyone who downloads this program needs to have his head examined.

This is a complete load of ********. Spyware doctor is deff not the best spyware application, but it is not a virus. Also, it is a known issue that your computer will begin to run slow if you install the program on a system with less than 1 GB of memory, which is probably what is happening in this case. You should really do more research on a product before you leave reviews stating that it is a virus. There are several reviews provided by trusted companies such as pcworld. Cnet does not support applications that are infected with any type of virus, malware or spyware. I have had Spyware Doctor on my computer forever and it works fine for me. I also run Microsoft's free AntiSpyware program as well because if one program does not detect a infection, the other one usually does. I work in a IT department and I recommend Spyware Doctor to customers who cannot afford more expensive programs. Like I said, it is NOT the best but it is a very helpful application.
