Splashy Fish puts a twist on popular flying games by moving the action underwater and giving you the task of keeping a fish swimming safely. Keep your fish away from obstacles and on the right track to see what exciting things you can discover under the sea.
Your score in Splashy Fish is based on how many obstacles you swim through, and the spaces are not too big, so it can be a bit frustrating at first. The controls are a little jerky too, making it even harder to successfully navigate the small openings between columns that try to block your way. As soon as you hit one, you're done and you have to start over, so it's easy to see how this game can cause you to lose track of time as you go back again and again to try and beat your score. There's also a game center icon but this didn't go to the game center in our tests, although you'll be able to go there on your own and see your stats for the game and how you compare with your friends.
This game's interface is straightforward, with mechanics that will be familiar to anyone who's played this type of game before. If you're a fan of the endless flying game and want to mix up the themes a little, this is a good game to try. And some of the high scores in the game center are pretty astronomical, so it could be a good challenge if you're so inclined to try and rank up there, too.
