Publisher's description of SpiteNET: Spite and Malice 9.5
From SpiteNET:This card game with an attitude, is fast moving and addictive. It's a form of competitive solitaire, where you are challenged by the wit and skill of Spite, the resident computer opponent. It's a very old card game, aka Cat and Mouse and similar to SkipBo. Choose a 2, 3 or 4 player game against entertaining computer personalities. Use standard picture playing cards or special easy to read cards.
Also Internet/LAN playable against humans. Version 9.5.0 added new personality graphics, minor tweeks and uninstall removes desktop icon if user chooses to add one.

- Version reviewed: SpiteNET: Spite and Malice 9.5
SpiteNet: Spite and Malice presents an interesting mix of conventional solitaire and FreeCell that will test your luck, skill, and cunning, as well as your ability to tear yourself away from addictive gameplay. An easy-to-follow tutorial teaches you the basic concepts and strategies. Your opponent, a grizzled cowboy, offers witty remarks when he steals your move or makes a good play. If you get too annoyed with his cruel jabs, click his picture to give him a well-deserved slap in the face.
Along with that cathartic release, SpiteNet also offers numerous gameplay options, such as the number of players (up to four), a choice of sound files, rule variations, and a choice of backgrounds. To keep its file size small, SpiteNet has no soundtrack and few sound effects. The full version lets you play online against real opponents, although the demo disables this feature. We searched and searched for a valid reason not to give this humble game five stars, but we came up empty. If you're an avid card player, be sure to try SpiteNet. Gamers with addictive tendencies beware, though: you might end up playing this solitaire shootout for hours.

Version: SpiteNET: Spite and Malice 9.5
"Would be a great game if AI did not cheat so much."
Pros: Great graphics, interface and help menus.
Plenty of options.
Cons: Like most card games, AI cheats big time.
AI seems to get 75% of the wild cards and almost every card it needs.
As a previous reviewer said, it has nothing to do with skill.
Did not buy it for this reason.

Version: SpiteNET: Spite and Malice 9.5
Pros: I love playing this game.I tried it about 5 years ago when it first came out..Spite is alot of fun to has as a apponant..I just wish I didnt have to pay after 30 days to continue playing the game...Is there anywhere I can go to download this game for free unlimited play? If so can someone tell me where to go...
Cons: The fact that I only have 30 days to play for free

Version: SpiteNET: Spite and Malice 9.5
"I liked the game but the computer wins everytime & its not even skill related"
Cons: As stated it doesn't seem to be a skill related game, just a program written so the computer player pulls all the wildcards and just the right cards dealt with every hand. I was hoping it would be abit more skill related, maybe it could be if I had more than a few opportunities to do anything before the computer player wins. Hoo Humm!!

"I like it so much I've bough it twice (new version)"
Pros: It is card game that is a nice mix of chance and skill. Never boring. The trial of 30 days is long enough to really evaluate the game and leaves you wanting more.
Cons: I'm having trouble with speed and mouse hesitation. I've never had the problem before on either previous game or newest trial. Probably a PC problem I will resolve.
