"Better than any other converter yet!"
Version: Spesoft Audio Converter 1.6
Pros
Converts easily, multiple files, multiple folders. Just as good as one you would pay for. Has most audio formats. This is great if you don't want to pay for a converter!
Cons
Doesn't convert ALL formats, but a lot of the popular ones.

"easy to use and fast"
Version: Spesoft Audio Converter 1.6

You can convert 1 or many file in a time and it is fast
Cons
so far, I can't find any
Summary

"It does what it says on the tin."
Version: Spesoft Audio Converter 1.5
Pros
It uses very little rsystem resources when performing a batch conversion, allowing you to work on other stuff. Also if you have a media folder with mixed file types, you can set it to just convert specific one, whilst leaving the others alone.
Cons
I really wanted to find something to not like, but I can not.
Summary
I have tried several other programs which all promised similar results, but failed to deliver, but this one has come up trumps. I can not believe just how easy it is to use, and the GUI look very professional. Why is this free? I would be prepared to pay for this. This is one program which will be definately installed onto my thumb drive.

"it does what it says on the box - and it's free :-)"
Version: Spesoft Audio Converter 1.2
Pros
So simple - where are your files, what format(s) are they, what format do you want them to be, where do you want the new files to go... and off you go.
Cons
It's a bit slow, but what the heck!! what you gonna do - pay for the privilege of saving some time, or set it off and have a cup of coffee ;-)
Summary
The simple wizard interface keeps interaction to a minimum. It reduces confusion and gives you the results you need without need for support or help files. I've only tried wma to mp3, but the results are the same quality as the input (quality can be reduced if you want to save space) and I've had no problem playing them on any of my devices. Even the payback toolbar is optional!
It's free, so what do you have to lose. -
"Fantastic software"
Version: Spesoft Audio Converter 1.2
Pros
I just used it to convert some MIDI files (man all those $30 products are robbing you BLIND!) and it worked incredibly well. I would definitely recommend this to others.
Cons
No cons that I can tell at this time.

"this is the only free program that has no catches"
Version: Spesoft Audio Converter 1.0
Pros
converts any AUDIO files you choose the types of files to fetch or convert entire folder{s} 1 click, you set the input types then how to convert them with a choice of just about any audio types imaginable {20 or so} also bitrates and compression
Cons
so far it's worked quickly and easily with success and no naging pop=ups to register or limitations on anything!!
Summary
It's really simple to use and the choice of formats is extensive and the methods of rounding up files is the best ideas I've ever seen, I couldn't even imagine it getting any better than this @ any cost of cousre you'll have to use tagging software to retag the converted files if they were RAW format or unnamed WAV but thats expected, you can't go wrong if you're looking to covert alot of files due to new styles and types of audio players out o the market now. I used it to convert RAW and WAV to MP3 to load onto SD cards for my car stereo and for USB for the same. I tried NERO and found after quite a bit of time cosumed to convert correcty that I couldn't move any thing I wasted my time converting due to some permissions crap that NERO placed on my files renderig them useless and I'm not even sure I'll be able to delete them. It'not long before costly programs such as NERO and high dollar soundcards will be a thing of the past now that on board sound chips are rivalig or betterring that of CREATIVES driver dropping PCI cards that cost more than the entire motherboard that supports it. I've never liked any CREATIVE or other sound cards ust because they have many diver issues and just plain old don't sound ay better.
