"Many crashes on a white MacBook os 10.6.8"
Version: SpendThrift 3.0
Pros
Looked promising - fairly intuitive, I liked the most of the data entry and the various chart functions i.e. pie bar and line chart. I entered 50 records fairly easily over 2 days. When the program opens, it loads your data file, so you don't have to hunt for the file on your drive.
Cons
Once sorted by date, changing payee or amount on a record caused the records to resort themselves in a different random order.
Program would hesitate for quite a while, saving the file would shorten the wait. Apparently these were minor crashes, eventually it really crashed and when opened again it wouldn't load my file or the automatic backup file without crashing. The next day program didn't recognize the file type (Xxxxxxxxxx.spht) at all, and all my work and records were lost. The error log said program had crashed 21 times while I was using it, 8 of them were serious enough to generate a crash report.Summary
I have emailed the programmer and enclosed the crash note to see if there is a fix or workaround.
When the program opens it is supposed to load your data file, you cant hunt for the file and try to open it as there is no "Open Dialogue box". Once my file was in "the unrecognizable state", double clicking on it didn't load and open it in Spendthrift. it opens as gibberish in Text.
In my opinion the program is too unstable to be of use. -
"Can set up multi accts and shows report of ea. acct"
Version: SpendThrift 3.0
Pros
Easy to follow, nice interface, great program, love the symbol, dollar sign w/wings. Has everything needed.
Cons
I didn't find any.
Summary
It was perfect besides, it showed $38.00 short on SpendThrift 3.0. I went over each entry on my end then matched it to the program, all entries matched but still balance was showing short $38.00. Other acct bal. ok. If not for this prblm I would have kept it.
