"DON'T USE if you don't buy, it ruins your configuration"
Version: SpeedBit Video Accelerator for Mac 1.0.1.0
Pros
There might have been a slight increase when using wireless.
Cons
When you use their uninstaller they ruin your settings in such a way as to make your next downloads seem like you back on a modem.
Summary
I originally downloaded this because I was using my wireless network at the house to download movies and they were taking too long. I downloaded the trial to see if it would make a difference and it may have made a slight one but was still dragging. So i connected my mac directly to the router and the movie downloaded at about 100 times the rate. Since I was getting such superior performance I just decided to keep using the ethernet on my desktop and download huge file from there. When the trial for speedbit ran out I just decided to uninstall it as it did not make a big difference and speed was no longer an issue. Once I used their uninstall utility however and went back to my browser, I could not even watch a you tube video much less download a movie. These guys tweaked things so badly I was having Atari 800 flash backs on my old 300 baud modem. These jackballs purposely messed up all my settings. I ended up going to apples site and finding a freeware app on there and it completely adjusted things back. These guys obviously try to make things so bad, you are tempted to reinstall their "miracle product" immediately, dont. Forgive the long post but these guys deserved it. Look elsewhere.
