"Complex Schedule Miracle Worker"
Version: Spanning Tools 1.1
Pros
Allso repaired several complex sync issues with the Daylite database sync.
Cons
No cons at this point. When an application functions as promised and costs a reasonable amount. There should never be complaints.
Summary
I run my tech business on the Macintosh operating system, using the Daylite Database (from Market Circle) on multiple computers as well as an iPhone.
When one is syncing 1000+ contacts and several years of client appointments, with copious notes, to several computers as well as Mobile Me... you know that "trouble is brewing".
I had been experiencing a problem where several appointments were multiplying on their given day. For Example Christmas 2011 had placed itself in the appointment book 687 times! Ditto for several anniversaries and client visits.
Once this occurs, it then syncs itself to Mobile Me, The Daylite Server, your office desktop, then to the MacBook pro and ultimately.. the iPhone. Large scale mess with 2000 - 3000 unwanted appointments slowing down the sync process, and sometimes crashing the iCal calendar due to the number of appointments jammed into a single day!
Enter Spanning Tools.... Repaired my duplicate appointments in one fell swoop! This after many hours of scanning my schedule and then deleting them one by one by one by one.... ad nauseam.
As a bonus, the Spanning Tools Sync Tool, repaired all of my sync preferences in the most simple and elegant way imaginable!
I will recommend this application to my Mac clients and make it a regular part of my IT office practices. Loved it!
