I used to swear by Spanning Sync - it was seamless.
Cons
Over the last 2 months it has been unreliable. The developer swears it is a Google issue, but the fact remains that my CalDAV syncing works and the Spanning Sync does not (most of the time now).

I've only been using Spanning Sync v3 for a short time. Tested it, and then bought it. I use it to sync my MacPro and my MacBook Pro and my Blackberry (SO much more reliable and less time consuming than troubleshooting Missing Sync!)
During the testing process I had several questions for the developer that received responses within 24 hours - maximum. I got a couple of responses within a couple of hours! After my purchase, I had one more issue - a corruption of my internal files (not a fault of Spanning Sync, but rather, Apple's Sync Services). The next day, I got a response from the developer with specific resolution instructions, and a request to contact him back, if the problem persisted. The first suggested resolution did solve the problem.
I can't completely attest to Spanning Sync yet - I don't use it for contacts yet, only iCal, but I've found that so far it's reliable. BUT, the customer support is superb, IMO.
I just had to make sure people saw the other side of the story. -

I have been a user for nearly a year and was happy with the product. Version 3 does not work properly despite removing and re-installing. I have attempted to contact developer now four times and have had NO RESPONSE!!! do not upgrade at this time!!! -

Works in the background and consumes no extra resources. Contacts are backed up and if phone is lost you may restore them. Possible discount of 5$ by using spanning sync discount code TRNNXX. ICal, Google Cal and Spanning Sync love each other. Ideal!
Cons
To-do sync is not supported. It is google's mistake as they have not facilitated this option.

I love Spanning Sync! I downloaded the trial version and after using it for that period was so pleased with the program that purchased the yearly subscription. Not a single problem! Works perfectly with google, and mac. Furthermore, if syncronising with a cell phone live becomes much more organized. I recommend it! "WARNING - Will not uninstall completely!"

Did not work all that well. The big problem came when I wanted to remove it. The uninstaller leaves the Spanning Sync icon in the system preferences. When you click on it, you get Preferences Error: "You cannot open Spanning Sync preferences because it doesn't work on an Intel-based Mac". Searching on Spanning finds no files to delete.
And the final straw, there is no email link to ask questions at the site. Just useless FAQs. -

It works flawlessly for me. It syncs the Address Book with GMail Contacts better than anything else I have tried. The ability to sync multiple iCal calendars with Google Calendar counterparts is brilliant. I can't say enough good things about it. If you are like me and you organize yourself around Google Mail and Calendar, this is the product for you! Bravo! -
