Spamfighter 4.9.1 User Reviews
-
"Helpful, but no thanks..."
Version: Spamfighter 4.9.1
Pros
1. The program was easy to install (and uninstall).
2. Integrated fine with Outlook Express (and Outlook, which I only use as a calendar) and
3. caught most spam.
Also, contains useful tips (e.g. "Read messages as plain text so that images in spam mails do not load").
Cons
1. It made my email program a bit slow (although that may have to do with my Win98 computer as well).
2. After the 1st week I did not see any further improvement (about 90% of spam caught). Even more, as I was afraid of having false positives (real messages identified as spam) I still went back to the Spamfighter folder to check them out, so I lost more time essentially.
3. After 30 days (when I did not upgrade to Spamfighter Pro) no more spam was caught, so essentialy this is not freeware.
4. You cannot select the programs to which it will integrate (eg. Outlook or Outlook Express) It automatically detected and got integrated into both of them.
As my ISP provides the option of a spam filter (which I did not like too much) I have decided to uninstall Spamfighter and go back to checking emails myself (with or without ISP filter).
Thanks for the helpful tip though :)

"For use at home the best"

"A very smooth and relailble spamfilter."
Version: Spamfighter 4.9.1
Pros
I experencien a spamfilter who is capable of keeping the mail wich is important for me in the inbox. I'm using it now for more then three months and it only put one trusted mail in his spamfilter. Spamfighter does what it promise, keeping the spam there where it should be...in the garbagecan ;o)

"Saves a lot of time, controls are user friendly. No learning effect?"
Version: Spamfighter 4.9.1
Pros
Spamfighter saves me going through a lot of spam files.
Non-spam all arrive via the inbox!
The control of the application speaks for itself.
Cons
* Still quite a lot spam is not filtered and arrives via the inbox.
* I have two pc's with both spamfighter on it. Blocking spam in the inbox of one PC does NOT prevent the spam getting in the other pc's inbox. (where is the learning effect?)
* All files that I blocked are denounced as "Blocked by Spamfighter". I regard this as incorrect.
