  "Really outstanding software!"

  Pros

  I really recommend getting this software. Some key points for me:
  - very detailed statistics
  - scans network drives
  - information about local drives is updated condinuously
  - stores scan results for later comparison
  - scans in background and automatically
  - great reporting options
  - great file search, customizable filters
  - OLE Interface (not in every edition, though)

  Cons

  Yes, scans can take some time, but I guess that's just the price we have to pay for the level of detail and the depth the scans provide.
  
  Not really a con but something to keep in mind: there are several editions and not every edition supports every feature, so choose them according to your needs. (They provide information on their web page about the different versions, so check before you buy.)

  Summary

  SpaceObServer really helps you keep an eye on your drives. It tracks disk space usage and provides a complete history. When it comes to deduplication of duplicate files it supports hard links and ADS in addition to NTFS compression.
