Version: SoundTap Streaming Audio Recorder 1.40
"Everything you need for hard to record sources"
Pros: SoundTap has always worked great for windows XP. And this latest version seems to have addressed a stability issue for Vista users. I have been running it non-stop for about 3 days now and not had a single problem. The thing I like best about this software is that it contains no digital to analogue conversion process. It literally redirects the audio stream to a wav or mp3 file.
If you follow the directions then setting it up is easy. For XP users the software takes care of the soundcard settings for you, but for Vista users you need to do this manually. Once you've done it a couple of times it becomes second nature.

"this product is absolutely TERRIBLE!"
Pros: i would write some pros about sound tap, but there doesn't seem to be any
Cons: not only does this useless piece of **** add a "please buy soundtap" every ten seconds of anything you record, it also adds three folders of even more useless products that i can't seem to delete, every time i try it freezes up my computer.
Summary: and possibly worst of all, soundtap has somehow managed to completely **** up the sound on my iTunes and internet browser. the system sound works, but anything i try to play of the internet or on iTunes has no sound. i honestly don't think there are ... read more

"terrible piece of software, echoey."
Pros: fast download, but that was down to my internet and not the size of the software
Cons: messes with the sound settings of your system, so even after uninstalling you have to tinker with the sound settings to hear anything again.

Pros: None, can't download
Cons: Symantec detects a Trojan when I try to download

"ever few seconds you hear "please buy the software"!"
Pros: none! Just trying it is a waste.
Cons: May be good software, but not sticking around long enough to find out with this crap way of trying to assure fair use. There are standard industry alternatives. Removed this after first few seconds of listening. Don't waste your time!
