"Caused my computer to crash! Did not work!"
Pros: did not like
Cons: this was the wrong version for my system.

Pros: Really can't tell
Cons: Latest version- but wrong for my PC

Version: SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio 5.12.02.5280
Pros: This driver greatly expands the limits of the on board sound card that came with my mother board. It was easy to download and installed in a few seconds.
Cons: Sound schemes are pretty basic.

"not for my hardware & destroys current installation"
Pros: None whatsoever
Cons: Cnet should not have advised software update. Instructions read to first remove existing drivers. New drivers would not install "audio driver files do not suport your computer hardware." Had to re-install from the original Intel motherboard CD.
Summary: See above -- I will no longer follow Cnet's update advice and will cancel their emails. read more

Pros: if it worked....the fact that it's free is good
Cons: the RPC Server is ALWAYS "Unavailable" , so i never have been able to use it
