"Soulseek is an excellent p2p software."
Pros: The software/files are virus-free. There's an excellent array of music & such, things you probably couldn't find on Limewire or elsewhere.
Cons: It takes a minute to get used to how it works. Sometimes you have to keep picking files from the search list until you find one that begins download.
Summary: I downloaded this software by recommendation from a DJ for songs that no one really knows about--indie stuff. Once I took a few minutes to configure it to my Internet speed, I tried out a few titles. The service is excellent. Each file has information--including which user it came from, the quality of the file, & the size. Some songs will take seconds to download, others might take a few minutes. Overall, it's an excellent resource for those looking for "rare" music & even mainstream music. I've tried a couple of songs from the Top 40 list, & the results are just as amazing. I gave it a 4 out of 5 simply because of the fact that new users may not exactly know how to set it up in the beginning (but their website should be able to help you out on that). Otherwise, easy to use, find great music, & don't catch any nasty viruses or spyware.
