"quality niche sound but discrete control is weak"

    October 6, 2011  |   By trancegroup

    Version: Sonicfire Pro 5.7.1

    Pros

Plenty of selection and wide spectrum of various commercial genre
Excellent sound quality with express search and a multitude of possibilities through mixing or arranging.

    Cons

Much of the material is over-used and therefore somewhat cliche for movie scoring, the arranging process is too packaged which limits the ability to really take the tracks to core components. Many channels are groups.

    Summary

For sound score and fast assembly of mainstay commercial sound tracks Sonicfire seems to be the industry standard, albeit a bit over-used, and I found much more creativity and fidelity in the latest Magix Music Maker which has punchier progressive sounds and deeper classical orchestration. If youi are making the backing tracks for a movie like Tropical Thunder or any number of Action, Hero, or Patriotic themed films you will find an abundance familiar arrangements when working with Sonicfire.

    Pros

This capability alone will save you hours of editing without having to compromise an ounce of quality. Mood Mapping makes it easy for you to control up to 9 different instrument layers from a single track on the timeline.

    Cons

    none really
