Summary
Plaudit for the makers of "Sonar Screensaver".
They are absolutely very professional developers.

"The Best Sonar Screensaver out there!"
Version: Sonar Screensaver 1.00.1.214
Pros
This is the bet sonar screensaver I have ever seen. For years I keep downloading them and they are always ok. This one is by far the best.
Cons
Wish it could find devices on my network and show them on the radar
Summary
One of the best , most fun screensavers yet. Now all we need is one that looks like a high end server work, something like out of wargames when the big screens were flashing.

"Great ambiance, superb sound"
Version: Sonar Screensaver 1.00.1.214
Pros
High resolution graphics, attention to detail, widescreen option (no distortion on widescreen monitors), great sound.
Cons
Al little repetitive after a while but then again, sonar is probabaly pretty repetitive.
Summary
The Sonar Screensaver by Xander Zerge is one of those rare screensavers that will make friends and co-workers ask "what IS your computer DOING?" I'm surprised we haven't seen this in the background on a computer in a TV show or movie, it's that detailed and believeable. Every time the screensaver loads, the terrain is different, and the option of cycling colors subtly changes the colors logically and gradually, so it never looks like anything but a real, working, sonar display. (I say this having never actually SEEN a real working sonar display but I am certain that any movie sonar display would look just like this screen saver.)
I am particularly enamored of the opening animations of the sonar monitor warming up and coming online. When you exit the screensaver by moving the mouse or touching the keyboard, the sonar quickly "powers down" with a logical-looking power down animation that is quick enough to not be in the way but detailed enough to imply that you've actively "turned off the sonar" in order to use the computer.
Sound excels in this product. You can mute the sound if you like, opt for times of day that sound is on and change the frequency of extraneous "hits" on the radar, opting instead for a low-key "ping...... ping...... ping" of sonar. The "power up" sound effect as the saver simulates the sonar coming online is wonderfully subtle and very believeable.
Nowhere are the graphics too cheesy, corny, or cartoon like. Nowhere is a sound anything but appropriate and subtle. In a nutshell, this thing looks and feels very, very real. -
"Marvellously original"
Version: Sonar Screensaver 1.00.1.214
Pros
The sonar screensaver makes the serene make-believe world come alive as one imagines being in the depths of the ocean in a submarine cruising at leisure watching the world go by.
Cons
Hardly anything negative comes to mind.
Summary
When one is away from the computer for any reason, the screensaver makes the computer screen become an almost realistic sonar screen. If the room is cool and dark with minimal lighting, one can look at the screen for considerable lengths of time listening to the peaceful sounds of the ocean that comes alive with the sounds of occasional biologics as the sonar tracks boats and ships of various sizes casually pass by. The ambience created rates very high as a stress buster.

"Get some submarine ambience"
Version: Sonar Screensaver 1.00.1.214
Pros
I liked the interesting look of the screen and the evocative sound of the sonar and undersea sounds.
Cons
After a while it was a little repetitive, but, after all, it is a screensaver, not a movie.
