Pros: converted a 30 mb mpg to a 2 mb avi.
Cons: Haven't tried for playback.

Pros: Software performs exactly as described. Meets all the criteria for a 5 star rating. No flaws found.
I find this software to able to be used for more applications than expected. Generally I was looking for a product to convert VOB files to AVI. This does exactly that, and it allows you to customize your own settings for bitrate and resolution.
Cons: No help file, but fortunately, but software seems to be pretty much self-explanatory.

"Easy to use, good video quality"
Pros: The Sompy MovieEncoder is easy to use and so far has produced flawless movies for my iPAQ rx3715 Pocket PC. I use the Sompy Media Player on my iPAQ to play the encoded files without a hitch. You can encode the movies at the default video size of 320X240, bitrate of 150, and frame rate of 15 fps at 4:3 format, or you can customize the bitrate up to 500, fps to 30, and custom video size, while keeping the 16:9 aspect ratio of the original movie.
Cons: No help file, but minimal options make it easy to use.

Pros: Lightning Fast Decoding. Best for Windows Media Player Pocket PC Edition (Windows 5).
Super Handling. Best in Class.

"The fastest and best encoder"
Pros: Window media 9 encoder took 14 hours to encode my 2 hrs VOB while this encoder only take 38 minutes. With the Sompy player, the video is much better than the wmv format which is aborted by the WM player all the time. The Somby player can zoom and fit screen with +10, +20 or +30%. It is the shame of for big corporation as MS with the lousy wmv
