We use it to track our requirements, test cases, test runs and defects. We like the traceability features, it allows us to create a requirement and tie test cases to it. That gives us an idea of test coverage. The reporting features are solid.
We use Clear Case for source code management, wish we had an integration with it. They do have a Subversion integration and we've been told that Clear Case is coming soon, it will be nice to tie our source commits with defects and requirements.
Good tool. We have multiple teams (about 3,000 people using it) in different countries and it allows us to easily access and monitor the progress of our software QA process.
Been using Software Planner for about 5 years, we have the Enterprise edition. CNET shows this as Release 4.0, but we are on a much later version (9.4). We really like it - helps with managing Agile Sprints and has great reporting. Very satisfied.
There does seem to be a lag time between patches but the support has been wonderful. We have noticed this year that patches come more regularly and have much better quality than in the past.
Highly recommended. If you take the time to learn the product well, it will help your team collaborate together and get better from release to release.
Not one thing. I cannot wait until we purchase new software and don't have to use this junk anymore.
Virtually every aspect of this software is buggy, slow, awkward, etc. We log more bugs for their software than we do on our own. Releases that promise fixes are MONTHS late, and end up with few fixes but more bugs.
This is, by far, the worst software that I have used in my life. We were enticed by the price to use this as a project management tool for our current project of software development. Unfortunately, we got what we paid for. We spend more time finding workarounds to using broken parts of this software than we do on our own development. We also log more bugs for their software than we do our own.
I don't think they invest in any sort of testing or quality control. When you submit a bug they say it will be fixed in the next release; but then are months behind in their releases. Then the release has more bugs than the previous one, with things that could have been uncovered with simple testing. It's an embarrassment to their company that they release such shoddy software; I wouldn't want my name attached to it!
Pay the extra money to get quality software. Trust me, this software will only cause more stress and headache. They paint a pretty picture and make this product sound perfect, but that couldn't be further from the truth. It's nothing but junk!!
Do not waste your time downloading this product. It will not work.
This is the downside of shareware.
