    "It works as advertised"

    August 11, 2010  |   By Nick3636

    Version: SnoopFree Privacy Shield 1.0.7

    Pros

It's good at detecting programs trying to access the keyboard or the screen.

    Cons

SnoopFree has detected a Microsoft process from the XP operating system and gave me an option of blocking it and even deleting it. I didn't do that. But I can see how some people might be tempted to press the wrong button and destroy their system.

    Summary

I've installed this program on my netbook XP, and this program asked me to reboot the computer. The reboot went okay. And immediately this program caught 4 programs trying to access either my screen or my keyboard. I chose to stop all of them and investigated what these programs were. 3 of them were from Dell, and one was from my Scanner OCR software. All 4 of these programs were legitimate. But I decided to keep them blocked anyway.

A bit later, this program detected a Microsoft process from the XP operating system. And I chose to let it run.

It's possible that blocking and/or deleting some Microsoft program might crash the XP operating system and make it inoperable. But I was very careful not to do that. And so far I've had no problems with this program.

    Updated on Aug 11, 2010

It seems that I spoke too early about the goodness of this program. I've restarted my computer several time just to make sure there are no problems with this program. And on my last restart, I got the Blue Screen of Death. The computer didn't shut down properly.

I restarted my computer. And I got an error message from SnoopFree saying that it needs to shut down.

I uninstalled the SnoopFree and did a System Restore. But the System Restore didn't work. My computer still works well. But apparently some part of SnoopFree remains on my computer.

    Updated on Aug 15, 2010

I found that SnoopFree turned off the System Restore function in my computer. I was able to create new restore points, but I got an error message and the System Restore didn't work every time I tried to do System Restore. I found a way to turn on the System Restore function. But I became suspicious that this SnooFree might be some kind of malware. And just to be safe, I re-intalled Windows XP on my computer from the CD. And then I had to do a lot of updates, which was time-consuming and a lot of hassle.

I can't say if this program is malware or not. But I can say that it's not compatible with the latest XP updates. Perhaps it was compatible with earlier versions of XP. But now it makes a lot of problems for your computer that are hard to resolve.

    Pros

I had this program before an loved it .

    Cons

    "my system crashed twice"

    March 2, 2010  |   By pickyme

    Version: SnoopFree Privacy Shield 1.0.7

    Pros

I liked the description, I thought it too good to be true. So I installed it, not knowing how much trouble it will cause!

    Cons

When I first installed it, my system crashed so I had to call a friend to reformat my harddrive. Then, I tried to reinstall it again, thinking that maybe it wasnt the cause of the crash, but my system crashed again! So much trouble it caused me!!!

    "Just great for keylogger defence"

    January 22, 2010  |   By dvnitycker

    Version: SnoopFree Privacy Shield 1.0.7

    Pros

It's a small, background process, taking almost no resources, that keeps an eye one everything that wants to hook up to your keyboard or monitor. I personally find keyloggers much more dangerous than any virus or worm.

    Cons

    it doesn't work on Windows 7 :)

    Summary

    Must-have

"It's a firewall for the keyboard, works great"

    October 18, 2009  |   By tony0964

    Version: SnoopFree Privacy Shield 1.0.7

    Pros

    It works
It has a light footprint (no performance impact)
It catches good and bad programs alike (you might be surprised that some programs you installed are monitoring your keyboard)

    Cons

It is sometimes difficult to decide whether to authorize access to keyboard for some programs.
