"Large Flushing Sound"
Version: Snapz Pro X 2.1.0
Summary

This app came so close to being really great then feel flat on it's face. Even if it did work, the cost is way too much for what it does.
I ONLY used it for recording videos on the web that can't be downloaded, like some youtube ones.
When recording with this the video starts skipping, soon as I stop snapz the web video plays normal. Then when it's saved and opens in quicktime, the video plays with the skipping and is just trash.
After spending a week trying to get this piece of crap working, I just gutted it out using AppZapper and will never waste time on it again.
Don't waste you time until it works right and the price is 20.00 or less, save yourself the headache. -
"How do I use this app????!!"
Version: Snapz Pro X 2.1.0
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
There is not one word on the application web site (or in the app itself) that explains how to use this app! All I want to do is do some screen captures. What the app gives you is a confusing interface with no instructions, and it is certainly NOT intuitive. And the website? It has several Quicktime movie tutorials. I clicked on the screen shot movie. What did it show? A narration that said, "It's easy! Just click and you're done!" Or words to that effect.
Thanks a lot. I'll use something else. -

YAY a UB finally! This was the last item that was running under Rosetta here. Thank you for the update, even if it was very slow coming. -
"better late than never...."

finally, a universal binary at 2.1.0. feels nice and zippy on my Intel iMac. i've always liked Snapz Pro X for capturing both still images and video. when my friend overseas asks me a Mac question, i can send her a movie file showing her instead of just trying to explain. she's blown away by the way it turns out. -
"hello ambrosia? intel? what is up?"
Version: Snapz Pro X 2.0.2
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
it is the middle of august 2006 and we still wait to the intel support. this can't be true. ambrosia updated it's "wiretap" a month ago which does exactly what snapz is lacking: record mac sound on an intel mac. so, why can't you just take your own code and paste it into snapz? Please. I absolutely recommend this software, it's great but teh update support is really bad thi stime. -

"A great piece of software"
Version: Snapz Pro X 2.0.2

I've never had a single problem with this great tool, and use it to take screenshots in various formats, grab parts of the screen, take screenshots of DVDs I'm watching (yes, you can do this, don't tell the movie studios), and so on. I am eager for an Intel version! -
"easy to use but messes with OS too much"
Version: Snapz Pro X 2.0.2
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've been using Snapz Pro for some time and it's easy to use for screen grabs and the like. However, I dislike the fact that its installation seems to do some weird things to the OS. Other reviewers have noted that it messes with kernel extensions and the like. After installing Snapz Pro, I decided to only launch it when needed rather than have it as a startup item in my login file. Curiously, this seems to subtly screw up the loading of other OS components. e.g., com-shift-4 for screen grabs will now not work plus some items in the menu bar (on the top right corner) don't seem to always load at startup. If I launch Snapz Pro then all the icons on the top right corner of my menu bar reload. Considering what Snapz Pro does, this seems to be intrusive on the OS in general.
