"Easy, Reliable, Flexible"

I have been using SmartSync Pro for 2 1/2 years to back up all my C-drive data files and also to backup my main external drive to a second external drive. It works flawlessly. I use SmartSync Pro in addition to a disk-imaging program that backs up all my drives for full-disk or file-level recovery situations.
SmartSync Pro also keeps past versions of files which is helpful when I have been able to circumvent supposed foolproof autobackup functions in the programs I am working on.
SmartSync Pro is used as my absolute last chance failsafe way to know I have my data files safe when everything else fails. SmartSync Pro has never failed.Cons
It was hard for me to understand the program's several notification functions and options. But this is a minor matter.
Summary
After 2 1/2 years I am still very pleased with this reliable program.
Forgot to mention SmartSync Pro works great on Win 7 64.
When I contacted support about how to turn off some notifications, the response was immediate with the answer.
The program gets updated periodically.

Also, the program backs up as files are changed. As I work on my files, they get backed up. This was the whole point of my buying SmartSync Pro in the first place.

The program is very reliable and not a system resource hog. When there is and upgrade it notifies you and is quick and does not require a reboot.
Cons
When saving your "my documents" as a profile it will make the music, pictures, video folders all hidden and also a protected operating system file.
Summary
I would recommend this product since it is the first to be Fast Accurate & Reliable. Little to no system lag or huge overhead in processing (compared to many others). The support on the product is consistent, with timely upgrades that are free.

When I backup my computer I am primarily interested in backing up specific files, inclucing MS Office files, MS Outlook pst files, music, pictures etc. I am equally interested in being able to restore these files, most of the time because I will install a new OS or want to install a clean OS in place of one that has become sluggish. Most other backup solutions will compress your files into a proprietary format, use incremental or differential backups, and in the end taking up more room and requiring more effort to restore your files. With SmartSync Pro your files are copied in their original format or type (i.e. MS Word documents), so restoring is as simple as using Windows Explorer, or using SmartSync Pro, of course. You can choose to use (or not use) templates to help determine what you want to backup, i.e. Outlook, or My Music files, or you can select the files yourself. SmartSync Pro checks for modified files, and copies only files which have changed. There are many other options for scheduling and notification making this both the easiest and feature full backup and restore solution I have used.
Give it a try! I think you will find its interface and features, and ease of use a welcomed departure from so many other backup/restore solutions out there!
Cons
Although this software runs on Vista (x32 for sure, anyway) I am not sure that the templates are up-to-date, so you may want to manually select your folders and files as needed. No big deal but something to be aware of.

Reliability, flexiable options, good reporting, and scheduling. The program works just like it should. I've used this program to synchronize terabytes of data across our lan. Most other sync programs do not support map drives or UNC paths, but smartsync does. It can send out email reports if errors occur or if you just want notifications. And its cheap unlike other solutions. Excellent, excellent program. I reccomend it to all my clients.
Cons
Does not support byte to byte processing. The "sync on folder change" only works well for the root folder and the change is not detected under subfolders.
