"Excelent Product"
Version: SmartCode VNC Manager Enterprise Edition (32-bit) 3.0.27.1
Pros
Everything is in one program. Have support for free based vnc software. .net 2.0 release is coming out in less than 2 months.
Cons
The price..

"It became essential in my daily job"
Version: SmartCode VNC Manager Enterprise Edition (32-bit) 3.0.26.1
Pros
I’m using this product to manage our corporate network for over a year. It became essential in my daily job as a web browser or a mail client. I cannot wait when a next version with Microsoft Virtual Server support will be released.
Cons
Looking at previous negative reviews, they look like fakes to me.

"Couldn't get it to work as advertised"
Version: SmartCode VNC Manager Enterprise Edition (32-bit) 3.0.26
Pros
It has an uninstall
Cons
It costs way more than competing products like Dameware or VNCScan but does about half as much (if you can get it to even work).
I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. They have a "switch" promotion on their website but who in their right mind would switch to this?!

"It's ok when it works"
Version: SmartCode VNC Manager Enterprise Edition (32-bit) 2.5.69
Pros
+ It has a nice front end. The settings box looks really nice and I like the tabs
Cons
It really didn't work for me very well.
- I did a scan and it found 5 of the 250 computers on my network that where running UltraVNC (latest version). This was consistant from a couple different computers with VNC Manager installed.
- It crashed (locked up) when trying to do a workgroup scan.
- It doesn't allow you to type in your own workgroup/domain name in the domain scan. This was limiting because the browser won't find the workgroup over VPN. Another competing product worked, though.
- I tried connecting to a computer running the latest UltraVNC and got an "invalid protocol" error. Apparently, this isn't compatible with most modern versions of VNC because I got a similar error using the latest RealVNC Enterprise trial.
- Built in VNC server and viewer is dissapointing. It's slow to catch up on the latest vnc features and crashes alot. It can't connect to lots of servers that I can connect to using the standard VNC viewer executable. They should abandon the silly "built-in" VNC. It's a horrible idea unless you can keep up with the real VNC developers.
- You can't VNC in safe mode using this product. You can with some other ones.
- The scanner only has one thread so it's VERY slow. This really needs multithreaded scanning if it's to be taken seriously at all
- No feedback if Terminal Server was detected during the scan. With some tweaking, I was able to get it to scan it as another port but it should be built-in
- You can't remotely turn on/off Microsoft RDP services over the network like some of the other vnc managers can
- There is no built in run-as to do things like open shares on remote computers and such. Other competing products do.
- Very costly! It costs almost $100 and does a fraction of what the other guys do. Even this promised version 3 is not sounding very impressive compared to what's already out there today for less than half the price!

"Still behind the times"
Version: SmartCode VNC Manager Enterprise Edition (32-bit) 2.5.69
Pros
The program has a nice look and feel
Cons
Many bugs. There are better ones out there. Just do a search for VNC SCAN and you'll see some much better products than this one.
