It also blocks new tabs from opening, and kills your Find dialog box. I wouldn't bother with this one.

I have tried others, and there was always some string attached. They required me to use other features of their software.
Smart Popup Blocker does the job without further trouble.
Cons
On start up, there is a popup asking whether I want to uninstall this utility. If I want to uninstall, I know how to do so.

It only zapped the ad on your 1st home page. If you have additional home pages each on its own tab, it zappes all the tabs.

As with many other reviewers, I also was ripped off by this company. The software is billed as "free", but then (after a variable amount of time) tells you it will expire unless you purchase it. Having done so, they claim you will receive a registration code by email. 3 weeks and several emails later, no code, and expired software. Rest assured, I will try to get my $$ back (at least it was thru paypal, which seems fairly responsive to complaints). Consider downloading this blocker, as it does work, but DO NOT pay for it! You may get lucky and get to use it for a year or so ...
