I had to sign up for NetFlix just to use this scam.
Summary
I downloaded a trial copy of Smart Flash Recovery and was told I had to get a "trial" membership in NetFlix to use it. I dutifully signed up for NetFlix (my movies are on the way) and then when I tried to use the product; the log in key they gave me didn't work. It couldn't locate my drive and sent me endless error messages. The product seems very unstable on my basic XP system I finally gave up and sent repeated requests to their support email address but never heard back. I ultimately downloaded Data Doctor and it worked fine. Of course I had to pay $45 for it. I'd be curious if anybody actually got this thing to ever work.

This product is labeled as freeware, but the application is useless without registering the product. Also, none of my drives were recognized in the screen where you're supposed to select a drive to recover. Not even my hard drives or optical drives showed up. Don't waste your time installing this software. -

It automatically displayed the drive letter for my flash drive. After clicking FIND, it displayed the FAT directory and gave the option of selecting which file I wanted to undelete. It also allowed me to decide where I wanted to save the file (on my hard drive).
Cons
I was surprised that it didn't undelete the file on the actual flash drive, but it wasn't a problem as I had it on my hard drive. And, btw, if you have problems on your flash drive that require this sort of software, you don't want to write ANYTHING else to your flash drive until you are sure your data is recovered.

Pros
Initial investigation of the product suggested it was only capable of recovering deleted files. But my problem was a damaged FAT/boot sector for the USB memory chip (SD). The computer was unable to access the chip. I ended up using Data Doctor, which could access the chip even when Windows XP could not.
Cons
Did not appear capable of solving my damaged FAT / boot sector on the USB memory chip (SD).
