Despite its simplicity, this application offers all the features necessary for securing your sensitive information. The straightforward interface lets you drag and drop folders and files into a password-protected archive that you can place anywhere on your PC.

SmartEncryptor gives you two secure algorithms for locking down files and it can automatically delete the source file for additional safety. When we performed the latter action, we were glad to find several shredding methods, including a governmental standard. In our tests, this utility performed quickly, securing 600MB of data in just a few minutes.

The downside to this speed is your PC's overall performance may take a hit while SmartEncryptor is running. Still, we feel comfortable recommending this application to folks dealing with even the most top-secret data.
