    "Never worked..."

    June 10, 2012  |   By PrashantGogoi

    Pros

    Pleasant Interface

    Cons

    - Find incorrect drivers
    - Takes a long time to download

    Summary

I have been using SlimCleaner and it is a fantastic utility but SlimDrivers just did not work for me.

First of all, it correctly listed all the drivers for which updates were available. That, however, was the only thing that worked. Took me 15 minutes to download the Realtek NIC driver. When I installed, I found that it had actually downloaded the Belkin Motherboard driver! Still, I opened Device Manager hoping that maybe the driver was updated. It was still the same old driver. Tried it again with the same result. Next, I tried a IDE driver and this time it downloaded the ATI Display Driver! I thought maybe something was wrong on my system and restored one of my safe backups. Installed SlimDrivers and tried again sadly, without any success. Did not have the patience for another try...

SlimCleaner is such a great utility that I was expecting the same with SlimDrivers. But unfortunately, it somehow did not work for me maybe due to some issue and I went back to good, old DriverMax.

I have used DriverMax for some time and have found it to be extremely fast and dependable. I would advise users to use DriverMax until the SlimDriver guys clean up their act.
