This slide-show-creation application impresses us with its power and versatility, but a few bugs keep it from fulfilling its true potential. Slideshow Pro walks you through the four-step creation process of choosing photos, adding music, adjusting settings, and publishing. However, when we first tried to add images, we got a curious error message telling us we had run out of space. However, we kept at it until we successfully managed to choose a number of pictures and audio files for a sound track. You'll find basic tools for adjusting color, sharpness, and contrast, but some of the editing-option text is still in German, as are certain error messages. The Settings tab lets you set the image duration, change the background color, and apply transition effects. However, we wished the program let you select transitions by name instead of assigning a meaningless numerical code to each. The application's strongest point is perhaps the wide range of options it gives you for publishing your creation. You can make a CD, a DVD, a Web page, a screensaver, or simply a slide show that can run on your machine. Overall, we like what Slideshow Pro has to offer, but the aforementioned bugs keep us from being more enthusiastic.
