    Like many other free available tools, the Skype Launcher Setup (and only the Setup) contains a *optional* special offer installer. If you don't want it, you don't have to install it. period.

    Take a look at the Java Runtime Setup from Orcale ... yes .. it also contains such offers ... we all need something to eat =)

    Beside that, at the first screen you can see:
    "PLEASE READ THIS TEXT CAREFULLY (it's not that much...)"

    and

    "IMPORTANT: Please read the installer pages carefully to avoid accidentally offer installation!"

    So in conclusion, for some people it maybe contains unwanted offers, but it never contains malware....
