"A really fine piece of software"

    February 19, 2011  |   By theCoop39

    Version: SiteSpinner Pro 2.91

    Pros

Very easy to use, and the tutorials are really good. If (like me) you have written a lot of code and don't want to do that any more, this is the ideal product for creating professional-looking websites.

    Cons

The help system is just average, but the tutorial/user manual is so good that this is a minor disadvantage.

    Summary

I recommend this product to anyone who wants to get sites up in a hurry, but who also does not want to be bound by template systems. I have used just a few of the behavior and action features, so there is a lot more I can do with it. I get all kinds of compliments on the sites I build and SiteSpinner Pro makes it easy to build and incredibly simple to update them.

"Excellent SW -- Perfect FrontPage Replacement"

    December 4, 2010  |   By Rick_Sp

    Version: SiteSpinner Pro 2.91

    Pros

This is well thought out, common-sense SW that enables one to make websites without learning code. I've tried several & this is absolutely the best. Much is intuitive with great tutorials & a user forum that is active with fast turrnaround on answers

    Cons

You can't import an old website... but you can copy & paste and recreate an old one easily. They try hard, but picture albums are tough to do... but Jalbum (Jalbum.net) imbeds into these pages with ease.

    Summary

This is what FrontPage should have evolved into. This is absolutely THE BEST software for web development IF you don't want to learn code.

That said, don't expect to just pick it up and use it.
... you couldn't do that initially with FrontPage either.
... there's much to learn here.
.... but what you're learning is not about code but about objects on your page and how they interact... it's the right understanding of what is on the page. I feel like I should know this at this level.

The tutorials, the active forum, and at least three experts with their own websites offering tutorials and tips (referred to in the Basic tutorials under What's Next) make all the info you need available.

I had several fairly complex (in terms of layout) FrontPage websites that I wanted to convert because I just got tired of the unreliability of the FrontPage Extensions on the Host site. At first I was frustrated that I couldn't just copy them but had to recreate, but as I did it ... much was just cut and paste objects from the old site.... and....I learned how the objects on the page interact..... and I had both of them done in just a couple of days.

I've tried Namo WebEditor, CoffeeCup, and Compozer... and didn't like any of them.... I was ready to be a FrontPage die-hard.
SiteSpinner Pro changed my mind.... this is really good software.

You can either get a 15 day trial, or, read through the tutorials before you even try it and see if it makes sense to you: http://www.virtualmechanics.com/support/tutorials-spinnerpro/index.html

Once I read through this, I bought it and won't be looking back.
    SiteSpinner Pro is the best!

"SiteSpinnerPro techSupport Forum is great !"

    April 12, 2010  |

    Version: SiteSpinner Pro 2.91

    Pros

I have used their (freeware) WebDwarf Editor for years, along with great support.
So I thought II'd give back a little, and splurge to buy SiteSpinnerPro.
Lots of extras here. I'm a happy puppy!

    Cons

I'm still looking, but haven't found any cons yet.

    Summary

I like to put all my webpage links into dropDown Menus, to cram as many links as possible onto one page. I couldn't find an HtmlEditor to do this easily. So I wrote a program in HotBasic to create a whole page of these ddMenus.
Turns out SiteSpinnerPro does these ddMenus quite well.
Not as grand as my ddMenu program. But easy to do and easy to modify.
As for Help documentation, ssP is so easy to work with.
    Buy it you'll love it.

    Updated on Apr 12, 2010

BTW: Here are some other wysiwyg HtmlEditors I have downloaded and tried:
Alleycode, Amaya, Antenna, Artisteer2, BlockNote, BlueFish, EwiSoft WebSiteBuilder, Kompozer, Namo WebEditor, Trellian WebPage

    "Best out there."

    February 17, 2010  |   By Igloo

    Version: SiteSpinner Pro 2.91

    Pros

Drag and drop anywhere, support, functionality

    Cons

I honestly can't say there are any cons, but if you are advanced, I guess the HTML could be cleaner, but for a WYSIWYG editor, it can't get any cleaner.

    Summary

The best out there. The support in the forums is crazy good. You will not be disappointed. I did my site, www.ehaengineering.com with this. And 'most' of the graphic work was done within SS Pro. I did include minimal work from Corel Paint Shop Pro X2.

"The product is excellent for the beginning web designer"

    August 8, 2009  |   By 7235465

    Version: SiteSpinner Pro 2.91

    Pros

Extremely easy to understand and excellent tutorials. The drag and drop without all the code makes it so user friendly everyone can design their own web sites.

    Cons

I've not found anything I don't like about it.

    Summary

I tried Coffee Cup and became very fraustraded. Then I tried the free version of SiteSpinner Pro. In about one hour I was up and running and bought the package. This was the best money on software I've ever spent. The tutorials are very intuitive and quite funny with the initial "Hello World" web site build. Just go through the tutorial and it's a cake walk.
