SingleCrystal is an elegant, easy-to-use program for visualizing and understanding diffraction patterns from single crystals.
SingleCrystal provides real-time simulation and manipulation of transmission electron microscope diffraction patterns. You can rotate crystals with the mouse, or tilt controls, and observe how the diffraction pattern changes. Screen tools allow easy measurement and indexing of reflexions, as well as the display of phase information for scattered beams.
Reciprocal lattice sections can be shown together with rotatable stereographic projections of lattice plane traces and poles. The latter can be customized to show any combination of planes.
SingleCrystal is designed to work with our CrystalMaker program, allowing users to visualize crystal structures in CrystalMaker, then with a single menu command, display the corresponding diffraction pattern in SingleCrystal. The program can also be used as a stand-alone application, reading from CrystalMaker binary files (selection included with the demo version).
