Pros
I recommend to try out the free demo version !
But invest some time to learn the basics. Ther's a lot of docu and help online.
After that you can achieve near perfect scans.
I'm still considering the upgrade to the IT8 version for predictable colors.Cons
The GUI takes a little getting used to

Pros
Silverfast Ai is a fine, powerful scanning product (much better than what comes with the Scanner). Just downloaded the latest Version. That IT8 Calibration is amazing! and the ScanPilot helps the novice user step by step to a perfect image.
I capture the maximum dynamic range using the Multi-Exposure feature (SilverFast Ai Studio).
