Version: Shoutcast Server DNAS 1.8.2
"Conditional Thumbs Up! Has excellent potential!"
Summary: The best of the bunch, Winamp is fun, generally easy to use and their sound quality makes mince meat out of Real Player, Windows and the rest of the pack. Shoutcast, is an excellent idea whose time has come? WinampÂ?s superlative sound clarity is present! This user-friendly company has got what it takes to become the leader in this segment of computing. Regarding Shoutcast, I feel there is some much needed tweaking and improvement. IÂ?m conditionally recommending this program. IÂ?m an online Â?Morris the Finicky Cat!Â? Ask any of my close friends and loved ones. Now, here are my pet peeves about Shoutcast: 1. Interface: ThereÂ?s no excuse for text that is so small and major eyestrain! And I have a new 19Â?CRT Monitor! As an aging baby boomer, small illegible print is inexcusable! 2. Selection: lacking! At least for formats in Oldies music and GOOD (Non Hip Hop) R&B! 3. More stations in 56k format are needed and decent formats! I personally feel Christian clown music is not what IÂ?d call a decent format. 4. Vendors/Radio stations quality in delivery and reliability need to be tightened by Winamp! I realize, what I just wrote was crass and harsh but if you want to put out a quality product that is popular you have to get your ducks in a row. Summarizing: Shoutcast is worth checking out. There is much needed room for improvement, which shouldnÂ?t be too much of a reach of Nullsoft. A diamond in the rough that once is tweaked and perfected will be an excellent choice and a must have.
