    "Unstable and awful"

    September 26, 2013  |   By jurgfella

    Version: Shockwave Flash Plug-in (32-bit) 11.8.800.168

    Pros

When it works, it does what it's supposed to do.

    Cons

Terribly unstable, has screwed up my installations of IE, Chrome and Firefox.

    Summary

I'm not normally prone to slamming products on the web and mostly try to leave measured reviews, but I can't emphasize how much I despise this product. Adobe, the company of vastly over-inflated and over-rated software products is all over the web with both its PDF reader and flash player, which have now become standards for the web, unfortunately. If only Flashplayer were stable. As it is, it's repeatedly screwed up my installations of IE and Chrome, and continues to slow my Firefox to a crawl. If only every other website didn't bug me about the stupid missing plug-in. If Adobe is going to be all over the web it would be nice if they could at least create products that are stable.

"More than what I asked for"

    September 16, 2013  |   By VinceMa

    Version: Shockwave Flash Plug-in (32-bit) 11.8.800.168

    Pros

    Great product.

    Cons

My biggest objection to the Adobe Flash download (at least the version I downloaded) is the fact that it downloaded and installed, WITHOUT MY CONSENT, Google Chrome. I wouldn't mind it so much if Adobe had given me the option via a check box, but they didn't. Now I have to go into installed programs and uninstall a program I didn't ask for.

    Summary

They have a great product, they just need to modify their download procedure.

"So bad I had to uninstall it"

    July 29, 2013  |   By jurgfella

    Version: Shockwave Flash Plug-in (32-bit) 11.8.800.94

    Pros

When it works, it's useful at rendering flash videos.

    Cons

There's no other way to say it, Adobe flash player just sucks. Whether it's Windows 7 or Windows 8, Google Chrome, Firefox or IE, this program is nothing but trouble. Crashes, freezes, and the inability to resolve a URL are all the symptoms that I've experienced. I finally got so fed up with it I uninstalled it. There are now a few videos that I can't see and a lot of advertisements that I no longer have to watch.

    Summary

Although ubiquitous, this extremely buggy program from a big company like Adobe should be much, much better. Instead, like most other reviewers, I've found every iteration to be worse. Shame on you, Adobe.

"The one to have - if you like infections"

    July 5, 2013  |   By hikergirl

    Version: Shockwave Flash Plug-in (32-bit) 11.7.700.224

    Pros

    None that I have experienced

    Cons

The latest version (11.7.700.224) came with the following infections:
    DomaIQ.exe (Trojan) and DomaIQ10.exe (Rootkit)(win32.RootKit!IK)

    Summary

I have reported this to Adobe's pros. Let's all hope they get this corrected, and soon. Meanwhile, I have reported these infections to Avast, so these can be added to their arsenal. A bit too late for me, as I have not found any way to rid my system of them. The problem begins at boot, with Flash running, and running, and running.... It runs so much that it makes getting on Web sites a lesson in patience.

    "Plase Adobe PLEASE not again!!!"

    June 16, 2013  |   By HSimpp

    Version: Shockwave Flash Plug-in (32-bit) 11.7.700.224

    Pros

I can watch flash videos, no volume regression... yet.

    Cons

Flash makes the browser lose focus. So when I try to mute, lower or raise the volume with my keyboard I can't, I have to go and click somewhere blank in the page to be able to use the keyboard volume control.

    Summary

    This is so frustrating.

Why do you keep having regressions? This strongly suggests that you are simply recycling old code. At least check it as a minimal gesture of respect to us. :/

"Adobe flash player get worse with every update."

    May 20, 2013  |   By aye-robot

    Version: Shockwave Flash Plug-in (32-bit) 11.7.700.202

    Pros

Pretty much need it to view videos online and has always been the standard for flash players.

    Cons

Adobe Flash Player retrieves updates automatically on my PC, but it seems that with every new version, performance suffers, videos freeze-up, and I wish I hadn't updated.

    Summary

After some research, I hope I can find a different flash player for my online video viewing, as the Adobe Flash Player just seems to be more unstable with every update. You'd think they could get it right after as many years as they've been doing it.

    Updated on Jun 8, 2013

After much research, I've eliminated Adobe Flash player as the source of an ongoing video issue I've been experiencing. Therefore my initial review is incorrect, and as there is no way to withdraw it, I will just say that it is incorrect.
